Turn and face the strange
Being sick + taking an afternoon off of work x (new yarn + pattern) x boy's niece's birthday coming up = one back of a Joseph sweater completed! Yay for me.
It helps having Gilmore Girls in the background and your cats curled up at your feet. It's for the boy's cute little niece Amelie who is turning 2 on August 8th. I cheaped out and am using Sensations Mohair in bright lavendar-ey-purple with Lion Brand Incredible ribbon yarn in Purple Party (what a name!). It's supposed to be a lightweight coat, which is what it is turning into, even though I sort of had envisioned it being even MORE lightweight than it is. It's actually kind of heavy, but I think it will be really warm and perfect for those fall days. I'm trying to get an in with the boy's family by knitting this for her. I think they think I'm a heathen or something since I sort of kind of skipped saying Grace when they had me over for dinner. And they're pretty religious. Like so religious they don't really believe in sex before marriage. Thank God the boy doesn't believe that.
Here is the yarn in more detail:
So tonight calls for finishing the front two pieces on this puppy! I should have plenty o' time considering I have to take off of work and sit around waiting for my cable, that's been out of commission for the last week and a half, to get fixed.
